Sleep (2002 – 2005)
Work created during the years the artist suffered from sleep deprivation that compounded the effects of illness, and during the three years the artist was bedridden by severe spasticity. She lived in a bedroom of darkness to relieve pain from constant headaches. The artists life disappeared trying to sleep through seizures which washed over as flames burning her brain and a body hard to move in it’s rigidity. It was her body she was trapped in the woman inside hadn’t changed
RETROSPECTIVE
Sleep as part of the Retrospective galleries was followed by the Woman Within galley.
