Denise is a contemporary fine artist, born in the working class East End of London, an area of London where its residents are known as ‘Cockney’s'. At the age of 17 she was accepted by Kingsway Princeton College in London in 1981 to begin her fine art studies, in 1984 she went on to the Byam Shaw School of Fine Art, and received her PhD in Fine Art, at the Slade School of Fine Art (UCL) in London in 1989. Her works have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Oxford, England and gained numerous prizes and awards. She moved to the United States in 1997, and shortly after began her continual battle with a rare and unstable neurological disease that left her disabled.
